What is the Galena Whiskey Weekend?
Warm up this winter during the Galena Whiskey Weekend! On the last Saturday in January, historic Turner Hall celebrates craft whiskeys and bourbons by hosting an afternoon and evening tasting of quality whiskeys—also known as the Grand Tasting. Attend the Grand Tasting and savor the complex, smooth flavors of a variety of rare and ultra-premium whiskeys. What Will I Experience During Galena Whiskey Weekend?
There will be an array of over 175 fine whiskeys at various stations throughout Turner Hall. This includes whiskeys made by local distilleries like Blaum Bros. as well as offerings from major labels. Taste your way through the warm flavors of spice, smoke, oak, and countless others—you may discover an entirely new taste that you love! If you find one that you thoroughly enjoy, most of the whiskeys (excluding the rare kinds) will be available for purchase by the bottle. If your palate needs a break from whiskey sipping, there will be complimentary water and hor’s d’oeuvres, too.
Tastings end at 4 p.m. sharp, but Turner Hall is within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Galena, so you won’t have to worry about scrambling for something to do afterward.
How Do I Attend the Galena Whiskey Weekend?
Purchase your tickets for the afternoon or evening tasting in advance online, print them off, and bring them to the event to be scanned. Once you arrive, you will be given a commemorative Galena Whiskey Weekend Glencairn Whiskey Glass—no need to worry about drink tickets! This is an adults-only event; unfortunately, no one under 21 nor pets are allowed.
