Take US-52 From Minneapolis to Galena, IL

Traveling to Galena from Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a fun road trip that includes lively towns, stunning waterfalls and state parks, and great restaurants. 

Red Wing

For small-town charm, head to Red Wing, MN! This unique city has gorgeous views, exciting outdoor activities, and fascinating historical sites. Stop by for some delicious food, or stretch your legs on the town’s best hiking trails. 

You can admire a great river view as well as panoramic views of the city from the top of the summit. If you trek the Cannon Valley Trail, it leads to another great town, Cannon Falls!

Cannon Falls

Make a stop in Cannon Falls in Goodhue County, a lovely town between St. Paul and Rochester. In addition to admiring beautiful, flowing waterfalls, there are plenty of other things to do in the area. 

Some of the best attractions in Cannon Falls include kayaking, rafting, exploring the Cannon Valley Bike Trail, or camping at the Cannon Falls campground!

Mystery Cave State Park

You can discover Minnesota’s longest cave at Mystery Cave State Park. Explore the fascinating stalactites and stalagmites along the underground pools and weaving passages. You can take a tour of the Mystery Cave from mid-April to the beginning of November. Tours are $13 for adults and $10 for kids above four years old.
