What is Galena on the Fly?
Galena on the Fly offers exhilarating hot air balloon trips that give you access to breathtaking views of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin below. Sail through the air and watch as the landscape rolls by beneath you. You’ll see the sparkling, deep blue waters of the Mississippi, the green, rolling hills, and spectacular panoramas that stretch out for miles and miles.
Flights
You can catch a ride with Galena on the Fly at sunrise or sunset. Flights take off from Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, which has several different balloon launch locations. Overall, the flight lasts about an hour, with the entire experience lasting about two and a half hours.
If you’re afraid of heights, don’t worry! The first few minutes of the flight are spent at tree-level so you can get used to the sensation of flying in the air balloon. Plus, before your flight even starts, you’ll have time to get used to the idea, as you get to watch the balloon inflate.
After that, you’ll ascend to up to 3,000 or 4,000 feet, where you’ll get the full experience. You’ll be able to spot wildlife from your vantage point as you float through the air. It is a serene, breathtaking experience that you won’t soon forget.
Balloons can accommodate as many as 14 passengers at once (in addition to the pilot). If you’ve got a group larger than that, you can still fly, as Galena on the Fly has several balloons at their disposal!
