Just a few minutes from Farmers Guest House is the perfect spot to spend a relaxing afternoon sipping on a glass of wine or two. Visit Galena Cellars Wine Tasting Room and Gift Shop on Main Street. If you’re spending the afternoon shopping the Helluva Half Mile, this tasting room is a great place to wind down.
Galena Cellars Winery and Vineyard
Galena is home to some amazing wine tours and Galena Cellars is no different. The acres of rolling farmlands that this vineyard grows from produces 40 varieties of wines and 22 different specialty grapes. Take a tour and see how its wine is made, and afterward, have a glass on the balcony while looking out over the vineyards. It’s on North Ford Street just about 15 minutes from Farmers Guest House.
Geneva Wine Tasting Room
If you’re up for a day trip to Geneva, head to the Geneva Wine Tasting Room on South 3rd Street. Enjoy your glass of wine while relaxing by the beautiful oak bar. You can visit during the summer for live music on the patio, cheese, and of course, wine!
Nouveau Weekend
Galena Cellars hosts the Galena Nouveau Wine Weekend on the third weekend in November. The annual harvest of wine grapes is an exciting time for vintners and wine enthusiasts alike. Many festivals and events arise as a means of celebration that can bring wine communities together, and Galena’s does not disappoint! The event showcases the annual release of Galena Cellar’s nouveau wine and has been happening in Galena since 1985 and has developed into a large event.
