From the minute you arrive it’s all about you and quilting.  The work room is set up and ready, your breakfast and lunch is brought to you, and WineTime comes just when you need a break from the sewing machine.  We’ll take care of every detail when planning your quilting retreat. We can also help you arrange Galena restaurants reservations, historic tours, in-room massage services and other activities for your quilting retreat.

Farmers Guest House Quilting Retreats are available as a 3-day/2-night midweek getaway year round. Galena Quilting Retreats are also available on select weekends with several quilting retreat packages that can be customized to meet your exact needs. Sample Galena Quilting Retreat Group Itinerary at Farmers’ Guest House

Day 1

quilting retreats Illinois2 - 5:30pm Check-in at Farmers Guest House.  Settle in to your private room with bath, get set up in the work room, and then tour the inn.

5:30pm “Wine Time” Meet and network with other quilters while you peruse local Galena restaurant menus with your quilter/innkeeper who will assist in making your dinner reservations at the many fine restaurants in Galena.

Although the work room is available from the moment you check in, the remainder of the night is an ideal time for dinner and nightlife. Galena has a vast array of nigh time options available, from exploring a Main Street microbrewery, to horse and carriage rides.

Day 2

quilt retreats illinoisQuilting begins when you want in the customized Quilting Retreat Center. The room is converted to your work room for the entirety of your stay.

8:30 am - Full Breakfast; fruit salad, yogurt, granola, cranberry scones, banana bread, FGH Signature Oven Omlette, bacon, juice, milk, water, coffee

1:00 Lunch at the Guest House; Chicken Salad on a buttery croissant, fruit garnish, kettle chips, lemon cake

5:30-6:30 WineTime; Wine & cheese, perusal of dinner menus and concierge service for making your dinner reservations at the many fine restaurants in Galena

***For guests who prefer a diversion from quilting, we are able to arrange side trips at nominal charges. These trips include: Mini Quilt Shop Hop, Galena Trolley Tour, Winery Tour Bus Trip, U.S. Grant Home Tour, Galena Museum and other scenic and historic sites.

Day 3

11:00 – Guest room check-out followed by lunch and afternoon quilting

1:00 Wrap-up Lunch; Oriental Chicken Cashew Salad with house-made chocolate cake

3:45 Quilting Finale with show and tell before departure at 4pm
